If you are going to a conference which is all about the future of the internet, you want to arrive in style. Or at least, I want to. So, at the end of September I started thinking about the best way to get to Berlin. Naturally, it had to be innovative. But innovation is not easy as most of the forms of transport have been around for ages. So how can you be innovative in that situation? That was the question that triggered travel 2.0.
After looking around for a suitable vehicle, Ford was the one to step up to the idea. Travel 2.0 will center around a Ford S-Max 2.5 Turbo. A car loaded with gadgets, which fits the concept perfectly. But we have to do more than that. This means that we will be mounting a camera in the Ford for the trip to Berlin and that will be broadcasting live through Dutch Cowboys. But just allowing you to watch is not enough. That is why you can call in to ask us all about the car, but also on our view of the future of marketing and the internet. A completely interactive journey. And of course, I will not be alone. Erno Hannink will also be riding with me, but we are having two more open seats in the S-Max. And these two seats will be offered to the winners of the two tickets of the Web 2.0 Expo that are being raffled off by Dutch Cowboys. So, you are not just getting tickets, you are also getting a free ride!
Of course the journey to Berlin is not just about us and the Ford S-Max. It really is all about others. If you are a startup, if you have a brilliant idea, or you have something else you want to pitch, you are welcome to our Pitch-Stops. The first Pitch-Stop will be held in Arnhem. During the Pitch-Stops you can get into the backseat of the S-Max to pitch your company or idea for five minutes. You pitch will be broadcasted live on Dutch Cowboys as well. And that means that you are having a huge podium for your idea. If you cannot make Arnhem, that is no problem at all. We are in Berlin all week at the Web 2.0 Expo and everyone who has a good pitch can get into the backseat of the S-Max which will be parked next to the entrance of the Expo. Let us know and before you know it the world will be streaming at your feet.
